Measles is incredibly contagious. It spreads through the air when someone coughs or sneezes, and those germs can stay in the room for two hours, making it very easy to catch if you aren’t vaccinated.

Early symptoms include high fever, cough, runny nose and sore red eyes. This is followed by a distinctive red blotchy rash which starts on the face. Pneumonia and brain inflammation are among the complications that are more likely to occur in adults than in children.

Priorix and MMRVAXPRO (Combined MMR Vaccine)
We use two vaccine brands that both protect against measles, mumps, and rubella in one shot. If you need a gelatin-free option, just tell us when booking and we’ll give you Priorix. One dose is great, but we recommend a second dose four weeks later for full protection. We’ll check your health history to confirm your plan.

Yes. MMRVAXPRO contains porcine (pig-derived) gelatine. If you are unable to receive a porcine-derived product for any reason, Priorix is an alternative MMR vaccine that does not contain gelatine. Please let us know when booking.
No. The MMR vaccine is a live vaccine and should not be given to anyone who is pregnant or planning pregnancy within one month of vaccination. Discuss timing carefully with your pharmacist before booking.
In some cases, yes. However, if you have recently had another live vaccine such as Yellow Fever or oral typhoid (Vivotif), you may need to wait at least four weeks. Your pharmacist will confirm the right timing at your consultation.
