Getting your travel vaccines sorted should not be stressful. At Colchester Travel Clinic, based at Dedham Pharmacy on the High Street in Dedham, CO7 6DE, we make the whole process simple. Our job is to make sure you leave for your trip properly protected, with the right advice for where you are going.
We offer a full travel health service under one roof. That means travel vaccinations, antimalarials, travel prescriptions and destination-specific health advice, all from one team.
Our vaccine list covers everything from Hepatitis A and Typhoid to Yellow Fever, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis and more. We are a certified Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, so we can issue your ICVP certificate on the same day.
Need antimalarials? We prescribe Malarone, Doxycycline and Mefloquine based on where you are heading and your health history. We also offer prescriptions for altitude sickness, jet lag and period delay tablets.
Last-minute travellers are welcome too. Many single-dose vaccines can be given close to your departure date. If time is short, get in touch and we will do what we can.
Everything is handled by experienced travel health pharmacists who know their stuff. No rushed appointments, no generic advice. Just clear, practical guidance built around your trip.
Your GP is brilliant for a lot of things. Travel health is not always one of them. Most GP surgeries only offer a limited range of NHS-funded vaccines. That often means Typhoid, Hepatitis A and Polio. Anything beyond that, you will likely be turned away or put on a waiting list.
Private travel clinics work differently. We stock the full range of travel vaccines. We see patients quickly, often within a day or two of booking. And our pharmacists are trained specifically in travel health, not generalist medicine.
There is no referral needed. You book online, come in, and leave with everything sorted.
Why patients choose private travel health:
Dedham Pharmacy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. All services are delivered to the highest professional standards.
Every person who walks through our door gets the same standard of care. It does not matter if you are heading to Thailand on a family holiday or catching a last-minute flight for work. You get the same attention, the same thoroughness, and the same respect.
We take confidentiality seriously. What you discuss in your appointment stays between you and your pharmacist. Full stop.
We also believe that good travel health advice means listening first. Your trip is not the same as anyone else’s. The vaccines you need depend on where you are staying, what you are doing, and your personal health history. We work through all of that with you before making any recommendations.
As our own clinic description puts it: all of our patients are treated with respect, courtesy, and confidentiality. That is not a policy we put on a wall. It is how we actually run things.
Every appointment is led by a pharmacist who has spent a career doing this.
Mandeep Sandhu has been a pharmacist since 2006, qualifying at Aberdeen. Travel health has been the real focus of his career. He has an independent prescriber qualification with yellow fever accreditation and NaTHNaC training and has spent over a decade helping people travel safely.
He is a keen traveller himself and understands that no two trips are the same. Every patient receives the time and advice that their trip actually needs.
